What happened, and why is Girlfriend holding the breathless body of her boyfriend? But the whole picture looks, frankly, heartbreaking, and the sad music is even sadder. Boyfriend is dead, but his soul continues to sing, slowly fading away. The King of Music can no longer perform and wants to say goodbye to the girl he loves and the whole world to the song "Goodbye World".
That could have happened, and that would have been the end of Boyfriend's career, but it's only a parallel reality where you have to help the guy's soul say goodbye to his life. In order for Boyfriend to perform decently one last time, you need to press the arrow keys that indicate when it's time for the guy to sing. Presses must be exactly when pairs of identical symbols match, and very often you'll have to hold off to hold out the note of a sad farewell song.
