Sonic was one last dash away from defeating the evil Dr. Eggman when he came across some strange mirrors. These mirrors awaken consciousness and figures of himself began to emerge in Sonic's mind, which took the hedgehog by surprise. In order to overpower his alter egos and continue on his path to victory, Sonic has to stop them from breaking free with the rhythms of the song "Blur".
